I have been doing handwork since I was four years old.  My grandmother taught me to knit to keep me busy while she was tidying up the house while visiting her one summer.  

My Mum taught me how to sew when I was nine.  I didn't want to be dressed in the same thing (literally) as everybody else so I was a very willing student.

And it just snowballed from there.

I starting hand embroidering my jeans and, of course, jean jackets, in the seventies when it was all the rage.  When my sister got married 15 years ago I got an embroidery machine and embroidered about 40 different shapes of snowflakes on six bridesmaids outfits and a whole lot more on the wedding gown.  I opened a store just after that to sell all my stuff.

In 2010 I was diagnosed with cancer so everything got put on hold for a while.  I am now 10 years cancer free and back at it full speed ahead.
